The University of New Mexico's Project ECHO is looking for a Program Manager to join our Global Health Initiatives Team (GHIT.) This position will play a key role in the planning, development, and implementation of international ECHO programs and will work closely with external partners and GHIT members to support emerging grants.
Due to our global projects and programs, international travel will be required.
The COVID-19 pandemic transformed the digital learning landscape and dramatically increased demand for ECHO Programming, leading to rapid growth at the ECHO Institute and within the ECHO movement globally. Our network now includes 600 institutional partners implementing ECHO programs to address health, public health, education, and other critical topics in more than 130 countries. World Health Organization, Jhpiego, US CDC, USAID and HHS/ASPR are among the partners our GHIT team regularly supports.
As a successful Program Manager, you will play a critical role in developing and coordinating global programs to enhance the team’s capacity to meet deliverables, including:
- Managing the operational planning, establishment, execution, and evaluation of global ECHO programs addressing multiple diseases and topics with partners mainly in Europe and Africa
- Overseeing implementation and continuous process improvement of ECHO program administrative and coordination processes including: IRB, CME, CPE, and CNE applications, mass email communications, program monitoring and evaluation, data entry, and day-to-day session planning and coordinating with participants, didactic presenters, and case presenters
- Serving as a liaison between the ECHO Institute teams (Research and Data, Surveys, Finance, IT, etc.) and a variety of external program stakeholders
- Collaborating with the Sr Program Manager to establish and implement robust project management and reporting frameworks to meet the deliverables of international awards and subawards outlining key elements and timelines, dependencies, and resources required to successfully execute each program
- Working to identify potential funding sources, including from CDC, HRSA, USAID, philanthropic organizations, and other funding entities
- Leveraging ECHO’s existing technology platforms including Salesforce, Trello, Power BI, Box, Slack, Mailchimp and Zoom to develop creative solutions to meet partner and GHIT needs

High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience 2 of which are management level experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
- Fluent in another language (speaking, reading, listening, and writing): French, Portuguese
- Experience working globally
- Interest in international travel
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
