POSITION OVERVIEW:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and oversee a sustainable Make Ready team for Versant Power; this includes direct responsibility for the front-end management of, Make Ready Project Managers, Make Ready Coordinator, and 3rd party Contract resources.
- Manage effective communications within and between teams and their respective leaders
- Manage the overall Make Ready Process across the business, collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the distribution system.
- Manage the portfolio of capital investment associated with Make Ready/Pole Rental which is between $1-$5 Million (minimum), annually
- Develop and manage the overall program compliance tracking requirements for the MPUC, per Chapter 880 Rules
- Work with key stakeholders to meet the MPUC Chapter 880 requirements.
- Provide additional regulatory support as required, on behalf of the Line Operations team.
- Work closely with respective managers and their teams involved in the Make Ready/Pole Rental process to ensure process needs and deliverables are sustainably met.
- Work closely with Rental Companies and proactively communicate expectations and needs associated with their project management teams to ensure joint success with Versant team members
- Work closely with Legal/Regulatory Department to ensure compliance with regulations
- Develop a multi-year workplan identifying resource requirements and needs to sustainably execute the work and ensure Versant’s cost recovery fulfilled.
- Monitor and improve the process flow of information, to reduce manual effort, pain points and introduce automation when possible
- Use and improve existing program tracking and scheduling tools.
- Conduct and lead program-oriented status meeting and provide proper reporting data.
- Develop a multi-year program schedule with supporting budget and resource loading.
- Works in accordance with the documented environmental procedures, instructions, and specific responsibilities as defined in individual procedures and instructions. Reports problems or deviations associated with environmental issues and the Environmental Management System (EMS) to the Environmental Department.
- Good working knowledge and experience with Utility Pole Rental Agreements, Joint Pole Ownership, Line Construction and Project Management.
- Bachelor’s degree in an Electrical Engineering preferred; alternate education and experience will be considered, in lieu of a degree
- Minimum 10 years of experience working in utility-systems
- Knowledge of regulatory process, requirements and provision of testimony is desired
- Sound financial background or experience in utility space
- Strong experience in project management and communication
- Strong and demonstrated ability to work well in a team-oriented program.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, SmartSheet or other project management software skills required.
- Experience with scheduling software and tools preferred.
- Self-starter and motivated.
- Valid Drivers License

NOTES:
- Position is primarily sedentary, with some walking, standing, and driving required.

RATE OF PAY: Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
