Position Overview:
The Level II PSO position is a mid-level security professional who provides advice and assistance to the Government security officers serving the individual Directorates or Offices on tactical security issues affecting the mission. This position requires a proven working knowledge of classification management, information systems security, personnel security, and physical security for the purpose of providing guidance to customers and industry partners. Level II PSOs will conduct briefings and indoctrinations to a variety of audiences and must be able to convey information in a clear and articulate manner. Level II PSOs working with satellite program offices will be required to support launch and launch flow activities.

PSOs cany out the pertinent security requirements and establish a secure mission environment in accordance with National Security guidelines and ICDs. PSOs are responsible for the implementation of national program security policy directives throughout each phase of the acquisition cycle (i.e., research and development, testing, production, delivery, integration, launch, operations, and closeout) and for providing security guidance concerning computer security issues, counterintelligence, industrial, information, operational, personnel, physical, and technical to Government and Contractor personnel. PSOs also support security sponsors for numerous Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) throughout the world and perform assessments of SCIF efficacy in protecting NRO information.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The PSO shall administer and provide security classification guidance and perform document and classification reviews, to include FOIA and pre-publication review requests.
  • Assist in the development of Security policies and implementation procedures.
  • Assist the Government in the NRO Integrated Security Assessment Program (ISAP).
  • Develop program specific security education material and information.
  • PSO will liaise with the NRO Directorates and Offices to facilitate analysis and support for program activities.
  • Participate in technical design reviews, working groups, and other groups as needed to support the security mission.
  • Provide analytical support to assist with the coordination, development, maintenance, research, review, and revision of NRO policies.
  • Provide daily support to the customer on the marking of classified and unclassified documents in accordance with referenced executive directives, instructions, and orders.
  • PSO's will visits industrial facilities (as appropriate), assess the security program effectiveness and SCIF efficacy in protecting NRO information, and document visits and trip reports in FIAT or as directed by the Government security manager.
  • Write, review, and/or evaluate security proposals and plans (i.e., OPSEC Plans, PPPs, Classification Guides, DD254's, Contract Data Classification.

  • TS/SCI with Polygraph

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 years of relevant experience
