The Program/Site Director, Automotive Services (Ford ASSET) is responsible for the structure, as well as the daily operation, of the Ford ASSET program, including organization, administration, periodic review and evaluation, continued development, and general effectiveness of program curricula. The Program Director/Site Director, Automotive Services will ensure that the effectiveness of all internship sites and industry partnerships is maintained. The Program Director/Site Director, Automotive Services must have a record of effective teaching, a commitment to diversity, and strong leadership skills. The Program Director/Site Director, Automotive Services must be able to work the required schedule which could include mornings, afternoons, and some evenings. Initial work assignments will be primarily mornings and afternoons. Must be available to accept a teaching assignment that extends over a 12-month timeframe annually. The position requires visits to internship sites (Ford dealers) at various times of the day, and travel throughout the 3-state area.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Leads the delivery of learner-centered academic instruction for the program.Promotes and supports the value of diversity and cultural sensitivity in all aspects of learning and teaching.Provides instruction for lectures and lab courses in Ford ASSET.Supports the success and development of students through the use of a variety of instructional methods, office hours, and providing additional resources.Provides continuous curriculum development, including the design, revisions, and implementation of instructional materials and assessment of learner outcomes.Responsible for the structure and daily operations of the Ford ASSET program including organization, administration, periodic review, continued development, and indications of general effectiveness.Participates in the processes associated with recruitment.Recommends yearly budgetary expenditures, ensuring adequate program resources.Coordinates activities with internship sites and industry partners, including affiliation agreements, evaluations, and maintaining effective interpersonal relationships with industry personnel. Assists with decisions on scheduling, equipment, textbook selection, etc.Prepares reports each semester, annually, and as needed, to adhere to institutional requirements.Fulfills campus-wide responsibilities.Maintains professional competence by participating in regular meetings and continued professional development and Ford training.Teaches up to 2 nights a week in 5-week segments, various Automotive Topics including Electric and Hybrid technologies.Performs other duties, as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Two- year diploma in Ford ASSET Automotive TechnologySix years of verified related paid work experience in automotive service technology. Employment in a Ford dealership preferred. Current ASE certification in the areas teachingCertified Ford Senior Master Technician preferredStrong leadership skills, including the ability to communicate the vision of the college for all industry affiliatesStrong leadership skills, including the ability to communicate the vision of the college and the program to a diverse audienceCurrent knowledge and skill in the use of information and computer technology (e.g., word processing, e-mail. database) or proven ability to learn these skillsAbility to travel to internship sites at various times of the day, and travel throughout the 3-state area.Ability to design and implement successful pedagogical strategies for students exhibiting a broad range of abilitiesUtilization of innovative teaching methods incorporating technology, including on-line resources Commitment and ability to utilize instructional strategies to promote student recruitment, retention, and success Dedication to improving college course offerings by active participation in curriculum processes, including outcomes assessment Possess the ability to work well and communicate effectively with prospective and current students, staff, faculty, administration, and colleagues and community partners in large and small settings. Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff and a commitment to a student-centered environment.If certain conditions exist, this position requires you to have access to personal technological equipment and capabilities to perform your duties.
