The Project Accountant compiles customer billings for large, complex, multi-million-dollar projects and is responsible for the day-to-day accounting of project financials. This position will be the point of contact for subcontractors and customers in the areas of billing, compliance, and payments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Exercise a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when working with staff, projects, and proprietary information.
• Work closely with project managers on the issuance of subcontracts, change orders, and warranty documents.
• Review and finalize subcontractor billings and payments, ensuring compliance of documentation required by the related contracts.
• Review owner/customer contracts to understand accounting and documentation requirements for Clark Pacific and ensure adherence to contract requirements.
• Responsible for the Accounts Receivable collection process and communicating status to project managers, subcontractors and accounting managers.
• Reconcile customer and subcontractor accounts and communicate issues to management.
• Complete all billing and related tasks in internal programs (Viewpoint) to reflect real-time data.
• Coordinate with outside insurance broker for project specific insurance certificates and bonds as required.
• Communicate cross departmentally to ensure the accuracy of information and that timelines are met.
• Prepare ad hoc reports as requested.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting role required.
• Familiarity with construction accounting is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance related field is preferred.
