JOB DESCRIPTION:

This is a great opportunity in a growing manufacturer. The Project Manager will focus on New Product Development (NPD) and is responsible for planning, overseeing, and executing all product development projects to ensure they are completed in a timely manner and within budget. The position requires strong technical and cross-functional product development and business process knowledge, strong leadership skills, and project management experience.

This position works closely with a cross functional product development team (product management, engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, quality, and accounting) and is responsible for providing leadership and management for NPD projects supporting the product lines at Wacker Neuson America.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with Product Management and Product Engineering to define and document project deliverables (Scope, design and product realization requirements)
• Create and maintain project schedules
• Execute projects to schedule, project cost, scope, and quality commitments
• Achieve target product cost
• Effectively execute and provide suggestions for improvement the product development process
• Utilize the Product Development Process (PDP) Milestones and Gate Reviews as key drivers of product development progression.
• Define and drive Risk and Mitigation plans for projects. Lead execution of mitigation plan when necessary.
• Facilitate collaboration between departments to identify new product development concepts, technologies, techniques, standards, and procedures
• Identify, evaluate, and document "lessons-learned" during the project and communicate best practices and lessons learned to project team members on future projects

• Strong ability to lead the transformation from product requirements into a product design and realization plan to meet or exceed the product and business goals

• Strong understanding of engineering technical issues/needs, manufacturing, supply chain, service, customer service, financial, sales, and marketing as related to product design and development
• Advanced communication skills
• Self-driven, highly motivated, flexible, and high capacity to learn
• Experience with Agile Project Management is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

• 
  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Marketing or technical discipline OR equivalent work experience.
• 7 years of work experience in engineering, product management of industrial/construction equipment, machinery, or other powered products.
• 5 years’ experience of project management experience in manufacturing of industrial/construction equipment, machinery, or other powered products.

• Demonstrated New Product Development experience
• Demonstrated Project Management experience with cross-functional teams which includes 'full-system' product releases

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to use a keyboard, calculator, and telephone. Frequent sitting, talking, hearing, and occasionally stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift (10 lbs.), and an ability to adjust vision for close vision work. Up to 50% of time spent in manufacturing environments around industrial equipment. Able to travel up to 5% to other Company locations.
