$71,460 - $84,480 Annual Range
When providing care within one of our Psychiatric Inpatient Units receive an additional 15% Stipend ($10,464 - $12,360)
A Psychiatric Technician (Safety) works under general supervision to provide a basic level of general behavioral and psychiatric nursing care and is expected through attitude, knowledge, and performance to facilitate the rehabilitation of inmates or parolees, and do other related work.
Incumbents perform tasks involved in the medical or psychiatric care of patients; maintain order and supervise the conduct of patients; protect and maintain the safety of persons and property; provide a basic level of general behavioral psychiatric nursing care to patients who are mentally disordered offenders; participate in the overall psychiatric treatment programs; and do other related work.
Possession of a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the BVNPTE. (Applicants who are within four months of completing the Psychiatric Technician curriculum accredited by the BVNPTE will be admitted to the examination, but they must secure this license before they will be eligible for appointment.)
Pursuant to the updated Public Health Order (CDPH) and current federal guidelines, all staff assigned to this post/position may be required to show evidence of full vaccination and booster for COVID-19, absent an approved reasonable medical or religious accommodation precluding them from vaccination.
