Job Description Marcus Autism Center, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University School of Medicine, are conducting a search for an outstanding child psychiatrist with specialization in the field of autism and related developmental disabilities to provide clinical care, research support and clinical training in Atlanta, Georgia. This faculty member will join a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, including psychologists, social work care coordinators, BCBAs and Nurse Practitioners. Marcus Autism Center is one of the largest and most comprehensive centers of clinical care for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders in the country, with over 5,000 unique children and families served every year in a wide range of assessment and treatment programs. It is part of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, one of the largest pediatric health systems in the country.
A child psychiatrist at the Marcus Autism Center will focus on providing clinical care in an outpatient setting but will also have opportunities to support research and to provide supervision of allied clinicians and clinical training for students. This provider will also supervise medical support personnel and assume basic administrative oversight of this clinical area. The Center values excellence in patient-centered care and will be looking for a person who is successful in effectively communicating with patients, families and colleagues.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years experience in clinical specialty

EDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited, four-year medical school
Graduate of an accredited, post-graduate residency program in Pediatrics
Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing as part of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta professional staff
Certification Summary
Board certified and licensed to practice medicine in the state of Georgia
Current DEA registration
BLS certification required

Job Responsibilities
Provides patient care within the respective clinical area which complies with the Professional Staff Bylaws, rules and regulations and Children’s policies and procedures.
Provides direct supervision within the respective clinical area of residents and medical students, ensuring adequate opportunities for training through teaching, patient contact, case review and research.
Participates in and incorporates Quality Improvement and research findings into practice.
Provides and/or serves as a resource for patient/family and staff education.
Provides an authenticated report of all physician services rendered and maintains accurate and complete records in an acceptable manner.
Completes necessary documentation and ensures communication in a timely manner to facilitate patient care and appropriate reimbursement.
Participates in meetings/activities as required to support operations of the clinical area.
Participates in activities that enhance professional development.
Completes and maintains any additional specialty training/certifications as required by the assigned area.
Participate in the development of goals for the department including research, quality and customer service initiatives.
Performs other responsibilities as required.
