The Town of Emerald Isle seeks a world-class media professional for the role of Public Information Officer. At every level of our organization, Nice Matters!

Manage a website serving over 500,000 unique visitors per year. Enhance a growing social media portfolio that reaches greater than 47K Facebook subscribers, 6K Twitter followers, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat and 7K users on the EI App!

Promote established special events that include: The St. Patrick’s Festival, EI Fishing Tournament, EI Marathon, EI Car Show, Western Carteret Fireworks Celebration, and a host of other wonderful programs.

Video production is a key focus for the PIO. Media consumers are looking for data in bite-sized amounts. Deliver powerful, clear messaging through EI videos.

Written communication skills are vital to the role. Traditional press releases, static print ads, electronic newsletters, and custom meeting presentations are responsibilities of the PIO.

Join our team and your workday is guaranteed to be anything other than boring. The traditional workday is M-F from 8 AM – 5 PM. Some evening and weekend work is necessary. Salary range for this role is: $51,254 - $75,856.
