Description
Summary:
Purchases materials, supplies, and services to ensure the best quality, cost, and schedule. Tracks purchases, communicates with internal stakeholders, and monitors vendor quality. Expedites orders and ensures on time delivery of goods. Works with vendors to confirm orders and delivery of goods and services.
Essential Duties/Functions:
- Assist with the implementation of a centralized/center-led sourcing approach to achieve both departmental and corporate goals & objectives
- Procure components and services while ensuring the lowest total cost of ownership, continuity of supply, supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, cost reduction, etc.)
- Understand individual and department KPIs and work to improve these key metrics
- Expedite orders
- Track order confirmation
- Purchase order creation
- Manage individual work queue
- Time management
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- Education Requirements:
- B.S. degree in Supply Chain Management or related field is preferred
Years of Experience:
- 0-3 of experience in purchasing and inventory management in a manufacturing or transportation environment
Demands:
- Available for occasional overnight travel
- Have a continuous improvement mindset with an aptitude for improving upon KPIs and reducing/eliminating deficiencies
- Strong organizational skills
- Results oriented
- Willingness to learn
