Position Summary
The QA Incoming Inspector is responsible for handling all incoming quality component inspection requirements following current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and current standard operating procedures (SOPs). This position reports to the QA Supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Sample, inspect, evaluate, document and disposition all incoming packaging components.
  • Write material rejection and quality alert reports as required. Work with suppliers to effective resolution and disposition of all materials as required.
  • Prepare and communicate component inspection reports and publish evaluation results.
  • Ensure the quality of incoming packaging components are consistent with specifications outlined by the customer or in-house specifications.
  • Inspect returned goods according to established procedure and disposition the material based on the inspection. Maintain accurate records of return goods and packaging.
  • Assist in investigations, deviations, corrective actions and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure equipment is calibrated. Routinely check calibration dates and report missing calibration stickers.
  • Interact with teams, including Specifications, Customer Service, suppliers, transportation, etc to ensure expedient delivery of quality components to operations.
  • Responsible and accountable for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Keep work area neat and orderly.
  • Follow all company rules.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner using proper tools and wearing appropriate protective equipment as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year experience in similar role and in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent visual acuity (corrected if necessary), visual perception and no color blindness.
  • Must be proficient in math.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to follow both verbal and written instruction.
  • Must be able to learn the use of scales, micrometers, gauges, data collection systems, meters and read blue prints, material/customer specifications, manufacturing instructions and bill of materials.
  • Must be proficient in MS Excel and MS Outlook.
  • Must have good leadership skills for directing, instructing and training team members.
Physical Demands
  • May occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Must meet physical requirement of the job such as removing cords or materials securing drums for sampling, removing and restoring corrugates from pallets, and lifting cases from production pallets for inspection and shipment.
