Job Purpose:

Work independently to monitor and measure product and process performance and quality. Work as an internal advocate, facilitator and trainer in support of product quality.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary quality contact for Opus Inspection in the East Granby location
• Serve as a Document Controller for selected departments
• Serve as facilitator of the Material Review Board
• Generate, track, maintain, close and archive Material Disposition Reports (MDRs) and Corrective Action Reports/Requests (CARs)
• Serve as the primary interface with external suppliers to address and resolve delivered product quality issues
• Serve as the primary interface with internal operations to address and resolve product and process quality issues
• Perform inspections on incoming materials and delivered product (finished goods, service parts and repair parts) to ensure acceptable quality levels are achieved and maintained
• Train and oversee technicians and others in incoming materials and delivered product inspections
• Measure and report on delivered product quality (finished goods, service parts and repair parts)
• Function as an internal resource to provide consultation and training on Quality Management concepts and techniques and facilitation of process improvement efforts
• Conduct root cause analysis of operational issues to drive continuous process and product improvement
• Keep abreast of new developments in quality technology that may benefit Opus
• Perform other duties as might be required to meet Opus’s operating needs.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of Continuous Improvement concepts, principles, and practices
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or other quality management systems
• Experience with IPC-A-610 soldering workmanship standards
• Knowledge of general manufacturing, assembly, test, service and repair operations and practices.
• Experience with engineering documentation environments and ERP systems
• Familiar with Microsoft office products (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Possess the interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with coworkers, internal customers and suppliers.

Qualifications:

• Associates degree in a related field strongly preferred; equivalent experience considered
• Three years’ experience in operations quality control and management
• Demonstrated expertise in standard QC/QA practices as related to relevant manufacturing and supply chain operations

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
