The Quality Assistant is responsible for working with a Quality Director. The main tasks may involve assisting the Director in sampling, assessing and verifying that the hospital meets certain standards, assists in the development/revision, formatting and editing of clinical practice guidelines, coordinates and supports the development/implementation of clinical services program, creates power point slide presentations and learns management systems. Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle confidential situations.
Essential Functions:
- Assists the Quality Director in current and upcoming data collection and quality projects.
- Able to answer quality questions without the help of the Director.
- Abstracts information from patient charts and other documentation as needed.
- Enters data found in patient charts as needed.
- Organizes work assigned by Director, coordinates quality projects, sets priorities, meets deadlines and follows assignments with minimal direction.
- Assists in organizing data for weekly/monthly/annual meetings, presentations and informational purposes.
- Completes assignments accurately, in a timely manner, and within procedural guidelines.
- Displays a willingness to help others; assists with other departments as necessary.
- Contributes to the overall performance improvement of the hospital/department.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Two years in a hospital setting preferred. Two plus years administrative assistant experience, or a combination of training and experience that shows ability to perform the job duties.
Strong organizational and analytical skills. Working knowledge of personal computer and software applications. Must successfully complete CPR certification and an Oceans approved behavioral health de-escalation program.
Subject to many interruptions. Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. This position can be high paced and stressful; must be able to cope mentally and physically to atmosphere. Work requires spending approximately 90% or more of the time inside a building that offers protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
