We are looking for a qualified Laboratory Technician to undertake a variety of laboratory procedures of technical nature in the electrical and lighting industry. Duties include handling sensitive equipment to analyze samples and conducting tests as well as reporting findings to a laboratory manager.

In addition to being well-trained to maintain safety conditions, a successful candidate will be devoted to carrying out work that has a positive effect on the organization. The goal is to optimize laboratory procedures and succeed in producing reliable and important results that can be used to make a difference.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee accredited photometric laboratory activities.
  • Carry out laboratory testing activities using Tamco’s Integrating Sphere according to the standards within the accredited scope(IES-LM79:08 – Electrical and Photometric Measurements of Solid-State Lighting Products).
  • Receive and release testing samples.
  • Generate and review test results.
  • Compile test reports and submit them to Laboratory Director for review.
  • Submit purchase requests for laboratory consumables/equipment calibration.
  • Work with Laboratory/Deputy Laboratory Director to troubleshoot equipment/test result issues.
  • Fill out, review, and submit certification documentation.
  • Review product data and determine compliance with safety/performance certification requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain certification documentation.
  • Make decisions on naming conventions.
  • Work with suppliers to gather product documentation to use for listing submission packages.
  • Verify that data is correct on product documentation.

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Competency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent GED
  • Product Compliance (preferred)
  • Must have a minimum of one year technically related experience in manufacturing or Quality Control
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of a variety of laboratory equipment and processes

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
