Compensation: $62,400 Annually

Status: 100%, Full-Time, Exempt, Regular

Probation: 180 days

DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: As the nation’s largest and most experienced provider of LGBT medical and mental health services, we help LGBTQ people lead healthier, happier lives, by keeping their minds and body well. All services are free or low cost. We’re also one of the few Federally Qualified Health Centers in the nation with providers who specialize in primary care for LGBTQ people and with a research team working to advance the care and treatment of people in our community.

JOB SUMMARY: The Quality Coordinator (QC) is responsible for support of Quality Management (QM) systems that maintain and improve the quality of services in Health Services (HS) at the Los Angeles LGBT Center (Center). In collaboration with the Center’s Quality Management (QM) team, the QC will create and operate systems to improve equitable access to health care services provided by the Center. Activities will include system development, direct contact with clients, and development and deployment of educational programming that focuses on the specific needs and concerns of the LGBTQ community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1) Facilitate quality workgroups, ensuring accurate meeting minutes and activities are recorded and follow up on deliverables are assigned to workgroup members and prepare standard reports to be presented in the Quality Improvement Management Committee (QIMC);

2) Create, tabulate, maintain, update, and run queries, dashboards, and PDSAs for performance measures;

3) Conduct surveys, tabulate, and report results;

4) Assist HS Management in responding to client feedback from various sources;

5) Work with Quality Manager to provide technical assistance to HS programs in the development and implementation of performance monitors and for quality improvement projects;

6) Assist in staff development and training within all levels of HS on QM principles, and practices;

7) Maintain privacy of all patients, employees and volunteer information and access such information only on a need to know basis for business purposes;

8) Comply with all regulations regarding corporate integrity and security obligations; Report all behaviors and/or activities that are unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful;

9) Participate in all assigned meetings;

10) Other duties as assigned;

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Knowledge of or experience working with the LGBTQ community and familiarity with issues of particular relevance to LGBTQ people;

2) A passion for the Center’s work and its mission to make the world a better place for LGBTQ people;

3) Minimum 2 years of education in health-related field or equivalent work experience preferred;

4) Ability to prioritize tasks, take meeting minutes and/or notes in real time, and glean key information from meetings, trainings, and/or client feedback for summary and reporting;

5) Excellent computer skills including touch typing, electronic health records systems and word processing and spreadsheet programs;

6) Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with health care providers, consumers, and all levels of department staff;

7) Strong organizational, analytic and logical thinking skills and attention to detail;

8) Culturally competent in assessing systems of care serving gay men, lesbians, bisexual, and transgender patient populations;

9) Bilingual skills, a plus (English/Spanish fluency strongly preferred);

10) Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse races, ethnicities, nationalities, sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expression, socio-economic backgrounds, religions, ages, English-speaking abilities, immigration status, and physical abilities in a multicultural environment.
