Position Summary

Reporting to the Quality Operations Director, the position for a Quality Inspector will perform regular product evaluations, responsible for recording inspection results, and recommending improvements to the production process. To excel in this role, applicants should demonstrate great attention to detail with excellent technical and math abilities. As the Quality Inspector, you will uphold the safety regulations of our company and supervise the production process to guarantee that all our products meet quality expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
  • Reviews and works with Supplier Quality and Supply Chain engineers to approve or reject supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) Documentation
  • Documents First Article Inspection (FAI) results by completing reports and logs that identify product re-work, supplier return, and scrap.
  • Ensure that all the quality check procedures put in place by the company are followed during every production phase.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
  • Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

What we require: (education, experience, certifications)

  • High school diploma
  • One to two years’ quality inspector experience
  • Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gages, computers, calipers, and other measuring instruments
  • Experience with automotive, aerospace, or defense field a plus, not required
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and independent worker; ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Ability to read drawings, blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Must be proficient with computers (MS Office suite, basic networking, service tracking software)
  • Basic Math skills


What we prefer: (education, experience, certifications)

  • 2- or 4-year associate or college degree a plus
  • Familiarity with First Article Inspection (FAI) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
