The Quality Reporting Specialist is a member of the Compliance Team, working under the direction and guidance of the MIPS Program Manager. This position is responsible for the successful monitoring, training and analysis of the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and related clinical quality projects and programs. This includes training, coordination, monitoring, and generating status reports for all clinical and technical components related to demonstration of the Quality Payment Program across the organization. Candidate will support staff on a wide array of projects including education, performance updates, post-implementation evaluation and support, and MIPS requirements. Candidate will keep abreast of the Medicare rules, regulations and program requirements in regards to MACRA, QPP, MIPS and any future Quality Programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor MIPS measure performance and report status updates throughout the performance year.
  • Develop action plans to improve performance and coordinate with providers and operations for performance improvement initiatives.
  • Produce MIPS quality dashboards utilizing Modernizing Medicine/EMA data and other EMRs as needed.
  • Develop trustworthy relationships with providers and operations, keeping them up to date on performance trends and gaps.
  • Analysis and maintenance of quality measures within the EMR including reporting issues or flaws and suggesting enhancements.
  • Maintain processes and tools to collect, track and analyze MIPS performance on group and individual levels to ensure internal and external targets are met.
  • Development and implementation of training to ensure successful annual attestation and penalty avoidance.
  • Develop and maintain MIPS training resources for each performance year.
  • Assist in the MIPS submission process.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for all aspects of the Quality Payment Program. Maintaining an ongoing knowledge of regulatory requirements year over year.
  • Demonstrate leadership, collaboration, critical thinking, and teamwork in addressing decisions and resolving issues.
  • Adhere to and uphold all applicable federal and state compliance regulations, the NSPC Code of Conduct, the NSPC Employee Handbook, compliance policies and procedures, and applicable healthcare fraud, waste and abuse laws.
  • Understand, comply with, and enforce all NSPC policies, procedures, codes of conduct, and OSHA and HIPAA privacy rules.
  • Ensure adherence to all compliance standards among all NSPC colleagues and staff, including those managed or overseen.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • MIPS/MACRA, Meaningful Use or PQRS experience required.
  • Business acumen and insight into clinical processes.
  • Requires technical, operational, and clinical knowledge of EMR systems. Mod Med/EMA experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills with advanced proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and email applications.
  • Excel proficiency required.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask concurrent priorities in an organized manner.
  • Must possess effective communication skills and ability to remotely build relationships and train.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management.
