II. POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Systems Engineer works with Quality Director and team to develop a robust Quality Management System (QMS) strategy that supports solutions and customer satisfaction with a high degree of flexibility and efficiency. This position is responsible for analyzing process, procedures and data to assure quality, consistency and conformance to standards of the Quality System Management.
III. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Equivalent to 4 years of college or university education. (Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing or Chemical Engineering suggested.)
- 1 to 3 years of experience in quality management systems and continuous improvement or related field.
IV. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor alignment of quality system with global standards and assure compliance to the relevant ISO and other relevant certifications.
- Plan, schedule, execute and report on internal audits and training for the quality system to ensure effective change control management within the QMS.
- Review quality systems processes with team and formulate new or revised processes/procedures to promote customer satisfaction, reduce cost and/or enhance efficiency/effectiveness. Support the Quality Management System through developing system revisions/improvements and providing appropriate documentation.
- Collect, interpret, and report on quality related key performance data on a monthly. Analyze complaint data, corrective actions, trends, and systems for opportunities to improve existing company processes and/or customer satisfaction
- Works closely with all functions or process leaders to resolve QMS situations, balance priorities, and maintain consistency with standards. Provide support to areas of developing, implementing or documenting quality improvement. Evaluate implemented improvements for effectiveness and report/present results
- Represent FLEXcon as the QMS representative in external audits and management reviews. Manage resolution of non-conformities to QS audits.
- Maintain open dialog with Materials Quality Group on supplier audits and non-conformances. Additionally, assist with audits of key and/or high-risk suppliers on an as need basis.
V. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
A. PHYSICAL AND COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS
- Category #3 (Hybrid Employee): Employee requires regular travel to a FLEXcon facility and will require a dedicated remote and onsite office space (does need to live within a reasonable driving commute to FLEXcon NA Facility).
- No full-time direct reports. May supervise and will mentor engineers, technicians, or interns.
C. ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH AND SAFETY:
- Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all environmental and safety regulations, including the Company’s environmental and safety policies and procedures. Must be willing to report potential environmental and safety improvements to appropriate supervisory and/or management personnel.
- Must report all (on shift / off shift) incidents to Supervisor immediately.
- Must adhere to FLEXcon’s personal protective equipment standards.
- The incumbent in this position is responsible for knowledge of and adherence to environmental policies and company procedures as per the company’s Environmental Management System.
- Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of harm to the safety of themselves or others.
- Responsible for informing the Company if he/she is taking medications or if there are any other circumstances that would interfere with safe performance of job duties.
D. QUALITY
- The incumbent in this position is responsible for knowledge of and adherence to the policies and procedures as they relate to the requirements of Quality Management System.
