Full Time, Weekdays. 40 hours/week.

Pay Range is between $23.00-$34.03/hr, depending on years of relevant and like experience.

$10,000 Sign-On Bonus Available! *not available for current BCH staff or rehires.

POSITION SUMMARY

Perform all aspects of diagnostic radiological studies, consistently producing the highest quality exams possible. Must be able to perform work independently.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education or Formal Training

Degree from Radiological Technology school as required by ARRT registration.

Special Qualifications (licensure, registration, etc.)

ARRT registered or registry eligible

BLS required by end of conditional period.

Knowledge, Skill and Ability

  • Must have basic understanding of human physiology.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Able to adapt exam routines and techniques when necessary to optimize quality of exams.
  • Ability to work closely with radiologists and other physicians.
  • Knowledge of sterile preparation and procedures.
  • Ability to perform venipuncture if applicable.

Experience

If student tech must be within four months of completion of Radiological Technology degree.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

  • Occupationally exposed to radiation.
  • Exposure to contagious disease and body fluids.
  • Stressful environment and fast pace.
  • Walking and standing required 75% of the time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to constantly stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to stoop, crouch, and twist. The employee is occasionally required to kneel, squat, and sit.
  • The employee must be able to consistently support, push, pull and/or lift up to 10 pounds, frequently support, push, pull and or/lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally support, push, pull and/or transfer up to 50 pounds (for example, moving a patient from a wheelchair to a bed).
  • Functional physical demand include manual dexterity, fine motor skills and reaching. The following senses will be needed for essential duties of the job: speech, vision, hearing, smell, and touch.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides quality patient care.
  • Performs exams using good judgment in scanning, radiographing, and documenting anatomy/pathology.
  • Assists the radiologist and other physicians with interpretation of exams.
  • Assists the radiologists and other physicians with invasive procedures.
  • Performs injections of contrast material (oral, rectal, and IV) if applicable.
  • Monitors and cleans equipment and reports equipment problems to the Supervisor or Imaging Director.
  • Schedules patients.
  • When working in an ambulatory clinic setting the following additional job duties are required.
  • Directs patients to appropriate treatment room, performs patient intake including health history, verification of allergies and current medications.
  • Documents in patient record.Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, clinicians, front desk etc.
