Essential Responsibilities:
- Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
- Optimizes patients’ satisfaction, provider time and treatment room.
- Utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
- Protects patient’s rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal, medical and financial information.
- Keeps patient appointments on schedule by checking in on time.
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Balance daily transactions and prepare superbills and money for billing department at the end of your workday.
- Miscellaneous office duties including filing, copying and faxing.
- Maintains communication with physicians and nursing staff, communication is vital.
- Keep lobby, reception and your desk area neat and orderly.
- Maintains medical record requests; reviews each request and responds appropriately by printing only requested records and mailing, faxing or sending by certified mail.
- Maintains vital yearly paperwork for each patient making sure all forms are up to date, obtain signatures for HIPPA forms as well as New Patient Paperwork.
- Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording and updating personal and financial information in the patient’s demographics.
- Enhances revenue by recording and updating financial information and verifying insurance correctly; recording and collecting patient charges; collecting patient balances/collections.
Experience
Preferred- 1 year(s): Prior medical office experience preferred

Required- High School or better
