Position Summary:

As an Recovery Renewal Counselor, you will follow all Cornerstone of Recoverys policies and maintain company Core Values. The Recovery Renewal Counselor will help to identify patients level of denial, acceptance of the Disease of Addiction, motivation to change, willingness, and openness to the 12-step process, and 12 step Knowledge.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • N/A

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate patients 12 Step Recover step work process
  • Assist in development, implementation and maintenance of treatment plan
  • Remain TB test compliant
  • Responsible for assisting in the care of individual patients within their team
  • Ensure patients follow schedule and are present for all groups and activities
  • Always maintain a therapeutic environment and patient safety
  • Documents in patient schedules accurately and timely for the purpose of census and treatment individualization
  • Facilitate each patient receiving and completing the progress assessment each week. Document the results in weekly and bi-weekly updates
  • Assist with all matters pertaining to patient including Drug Screening, phone calls, patient personal needs, transportation, etc.
  • Assist with Aftercare appointments, referrals, check in calls post treatment and aftercare group online, as needed
  • Identify patients level of denial, acceptance of the Disease of Addiction, motivation to change, willingness, and openness to 12 step process, 12 step knowledge
  • Assist with identification of special needs and the patients assignments while collaborating with multi-disciplinary Treatment Team to identify & design individualized patient care
  • Remain TB Compliant
  • Co-facilitate groups as assigned
  • Assist with weekly treatment team updates
  • Assist with lectures assigned that are within scope of knowledge
  • Communicate with referral sources
  • All other duties assigned as permitted by training, experience, working conditions and physical demands

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • 2 years of chemical dependency experience preferred
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal skills
  • The ability to work effectively with others from various backgrounds
  • Comprehensive understanding of the 12 steps of recovery and the ability to implement it into the treatment process of our patients
  • Comprehensive understanding of Schema Therapy and the ability to implement it into the treatment of our patients
  • Provide 1 on 1 with patient population as defined by the treatment plan
  • Must possess a valid drivers license with an F endorsement

Education:

  • High School or GED required
  • Must have, or working towards licensure for Licensed Alcohol and Other Drugs of Abuse Counselor (within first 90 days)
