Other employment requirements.

New staff must have proof of meeting the vaccination guidelines per CMS guidelines. New staff must be fully vaccinated or have submitted and have an approved exemption prior to their date of hire.

  • Minimum education/training requirement is a Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation field; CTRS required.
  • At least one year of experience in an Activity Therapy field preferred (music, art, recreation, fitness), preferably in a facility setting.

Performs a wide range of patient care activities in a behavioral care setting including but not limited to:


  • Develops therapeutic recreation activities program consistent with the planning process.
  • Assesses patient's physical, social and emotional needs within 72 hours of admission.
  • Conducts assessment through patient interview and observations.
  • Identifies individual problem areas.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient need.
  • Establishes a schedule of therapeutic recreation activities for all patients as required.
  • Participates in staff and team meetings.
  • Utilizes creative, recreational and occupational therapies.
  • Organizes, plans and implements therapy activities.
  • Monitoring, planning and implementing patient transportation as needed for out trips.
  • Maintains community contacts for the purpose of referral development.
