Tesla is seeking a Recycling Supervisor for our Gigafactory in Austin, TX. You will supervise a team of recycling technicians. Come and join us to help accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy!
- Oversee daily operations for team of Recycling Specialists Manage Scheduling for internal and external team members
- Read and interpret basic architectural drawings
- Assist in the development plans for future expansion of the non-regulated waste management team
- Assist in negotiating commercial rates of scrap materials
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, and support the team to reach common goals
- Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to supervisors
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors
- Physical activities: Work may require lifting up to 50 pounds, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, and prolonged sitting
- Operating heavy equipment including cardboard bailers
- Ability to work night shift
- 2+ years (or more) prior recycling, custodial or grounds maintenance experience
- Experience supervising team members in a similar operating environment
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Previous forklift operating experience preferred
- A commitment to excellence with regards to quality of work
- Excellent listening skills, organizational skills, and strong communications skills
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook/Excel/PowerPoint)
- A strong work ethic, proven follow-through skills, and a “can-do” attitude are a must
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment under constantly changing priorities and demands
