Under the general supervision of the Employment Service Manager, and housed in the Beckley District, the individual selected for this position will provide job placement and related services for District IV clients in District IV Fayette, Nicholas, Raleigh, Greenbrier, Mercer, Webster, Summers, Pocahontas, Monroe. Duties will include but are not limited to: develop job leads through direct employer contact and referring appropriate job-ready clients to the employer and make "Cold Calls" on various employers in order to develop job leads, networks with other employers in order to develop job leads and network with other employment and placement providers for the purpose of increasing and enhancing successful employment outcomes. Provides consultation to employers and businesses regarding ADA, The Rehabilitation Act/Amendments, work opportunity tax credits, and similar regulations. Will market DRS and the agency's employment services to special groups and organizations through public speaking engagements, liaison contacts, and job fairs. Will provide consultations and staff cases with rehabilitation counselors regarding job readiness and placement issues as well as document activities with clients and prepare reports. Will also maintain an accurate database for jobs and share job leads with counselors and provide training to staff on placement and market trends. The successful applicant must skillfully manage time, possess the skill, knowledge, and ability to market agency services and job-ready clients to employers, promote the employment of persons with disabilities and must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Frequent day travel throughout the district and occasional statewide travel is required. Therefore, a valid driver's license or certification that applicant will provide a reliable means of transportation is also required. Performs other related work as required.
