Summary:
Collaborates with the COO to set strategy for deposit product development. Responsible for project management of product related efforts and product enhancements. Responsibilities also include member journey cataloging, product line profitability and the key factors contributing to profitability of each product group. Additionally this position is responsible for identifying gaps in the product offering, product development opportunities, marketplace trends and regulatory change impact. Manages and oversees chargeback operations. Must participate in training annually or as required for BSA and the Privacy Act.
Position Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversees product development and management activities over consumer and business deposit accounts, checking accounts, and specialty programs, including management of product managers.
  • Partner with key areas to develop a comprehensive plan for product delivery channels.
  • Manage product strategy to profitably drive new account growth and other portfolio goals across all channels.
  • Documents and maintains member personas and journeys, cataloging for various business unit use.
  • Documents and maintains a product dashboard that includes key performance indicators that show growth trends, penetration rates, and goal progress, sharing feedback with Executive Leadership Team and/or applicable teams and committees.
  • Responsible for fulfilling all job requirements identified in the Product Manager Position Specification Form.
  • Ideation and strategy for future enhancements, streamlined processes, and product builds. End to end management of driving these products through the phases- ideation, launch, profitable.
  • In cooperation with key Technology, Marketing and Operational areas establish annual product marketing plan and promotional calendar to successfully deliver against portfolio goals specific to acquisition, penetration, usage, and retention.
  • Partner closely with the Technology, Marketing, Accounting, Retail Sales and Service, Compliance and Risk teams where appropriate to execute new programs and educate staff on product lines.
  • Ensure compelling, consistent, and relevant product positioning and messaging.
  • Assess the effectiveness of product portfolio in delivering against diverse member needs, relative to the competitive landscape.
  • Manage existing product lines and develop strategy and prioritization for growth.
  • Keep strong pulse on changing member preferences and industry trends to identify opportunities to develop new products or enhance positioning, pricing, promotion, and benefits of existing products.
  • Drive seamless execution of new product launches.
  • Work closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) to manage corporate or large sized project, addressing necessary Technology, Marketing, and Compliance components.
  • Responsible for developing project plans and managing medium to small sized projects.
  • Develop compelling business plans to obtain management support and funding.
  • Assess existing service and sales experience and determine key areas tracking and training for improvement, working with key stakeholders to implement enhancements.
  • Support Retail Sales and Service in positioning and selling consumer/business deposit products and programs.
  • Responsible for product knowledge and procedural training and development of managers, assistant managers, supervisors, leads and team members.
  • Provides prompt, friendly and accurate service to internal and external customers. Represents the credit union in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Maintains vendor relationships and acts as the liaison with various payment systems vendors.
  • Compliance with all appropriate organizational policies and procedures and state and federal regulations.
  • Responsible for upholding all credit union ethical standards.
  • Represents the credit union in a courteous and professional manner.

Required Education & Experience: (Must Have Minimum 1-2 years)

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Project management and product lifecycle management
  • Direct consumer marketing in banking industry
  • Experience creating and managing innovative, leading edge loyalty programs
  • Effectively leading team for successful results
