Job description
A Sr. Repair Engineer job is currently available at Belcan. This is a full-time, direct opportunity that can be supported remotely. To be considered for this role, your formal education and/or work experience will need to have been in mechanical or aerospace industry [Original Equipment Manufacture (OEM) and/or Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO)].

Repair Engineer Job Duties:
  • Participate in the life cycle engineering of Gas Turbine components and subsystems providing state of the art support to repair development
  • Support customers as required to ensure smooth industrialization and First Article Inspection / Qualification of new and upgraded repairs
  • Support customer and repair shops to improve repair yield and repair process improvements
  • Work closely with customers, repair shops, engineering, and materials to identify and execute new repairs according to component and/or systems distress modes
  • Coordinate with process engineering to ensure adequate repair sequences during full parts maintenance
  • Ensure NDE and dimensional inspections to meet customer standards and within repair shop capabilities
  • Review repair documents to ensure compliance to applicable part certifications / qualifications
  • Work closely with engineering and materials to ensure technical substantiation to meet customer and regulatory agency requirements
  • Support review of repair documents from FAA/EASA and other regulatory agencies and lead changes as required to obtain approval
  • Work within a team environment to achieve the desired project goals and ensure the project tasks are completed on time, on budget, and with technical excellence
  • Create documentation for repair, inspection, assembly and testing of development and flight hardware
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or similar, and/or relevant work experience
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience leading repair processes for turbomachinery components and/or systems
  • Experience designing gas turbine engine components (fan, compressor, combustor, turbine, rotors, stators, etc.)
  • Experience with state-of-the-art repair technologies
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing and repair processes
  • Solid understanding of metrology and NDE methods
  • Experience with ASME Y14.5 2009
  • Working knowledge of design cycle, conception to production, for components or systems
  • Experience in 3D CAD, utilizing Siemens NX
  • Experience working for or with MRO facility/personnel
