The Pennsylvania Employees Benefit Trust Fund (PEBTF), administrator of health benefits for Commonwealth of Pennsylvania employees and retirees, has an immediate opening for a Reporting Analyst.

This position reports to the Director, Application Development and is responsible for working on operational projects for the PEBTF. This includes development and delivery of health analytics services utilizing various reporting tools, standard project methodology and best practices to ensure that projects are delivered on schedule, within budget and with high quality.

The successful candidate will possess the ability to:

  • Configure BI tools, develop the semantic layer and metadata, and create reports and report definitions using various reporting tools and data sources.
  • Develop and maintain scripts required to ETL data and metadata into the data warehouse.
  • Provide trouble-shooting and problem resolution.
  • Participate in the development of new programs to support all PEBTF products and services.
  • Objectively analyze important issues, provide an impartial viewpoint, monitor progress to foresee problems that may jeopardize successful project completion and take corrective action to prevent or resolve any problems.
  • Complete assigned corporate projects ensuring that goals and objectives are accomplished according to defined priorities, time limitations and funding limits.
  • Recommend methods for accomplishing projects and establish work plans and schedules for each phase of the project.
  • Develop and document procedures for all functional tasks.
  • Suggest areas for improvement of internal processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by PEBTF management.

These skills, knowledge and experience are required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Care Administration, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Three to five years of experience in progressively increasing statistical analysis roles in a corporate environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results to completion while managing multiple priorities and projects.
  • Must have experience and demonstrated ability using reporting tools including but not limited to SQL, SSRS, Excel and Access
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD 10, and CPT codes essential.
  • Experience in applying project management tools/methodologies including Share Point and MS Project.
  • Must have a solid understanding of relational database concepts.
  • Experience in planning, organizing and managing major activities.
  • Experience providing effective solutions to complex problems involving both people and business issues where there are time and budget constraints.
  • Ability to quickly gain knowledge of new business processes and issues.
  • Ability to effectively work with all levels of management and non-management personnel.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work requirements and assignments and to complete assignments independently.
  • Ability to quickly learn Fund operations and systems, both manual and automated.

Knowledge requirements

  • General business knowledge,
  • In-depth knowledge of the health analytics field,
  • Knowledge of the business cycles in the healthcare industry,
  • Well-developed mathematical and financial analytical skills,
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
  • Strong leadership skills including the ability to run group meetings and chair projects,
  • Strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills.
  • Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint),
  • Excellent database skills including the use of Access,
  • Use of a 10 key calculator,
  • Good keyboarding skills

These skills, knowledge and experience are preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Health Care Administration, Computer Science or a related field.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $57,616.00 - $87,609.00 per year
