Pay: $16.70 - $20.86 / hour (depending on experience and education)

Schedule: Part Time Saturday/Sunday (11pm - 7am)

General Position Summary

The primary function is to work directly with families who currently have an open case with child welfare services, who are experiencing homelessness, and live in a transitional living community (TLC). This position works with families to guide and assist them in their development, and to effectively manage the activities associated with a clean and sober living environment, child welfare reunification process, and acquiring stable housing. This position provides hands on skill development and implements evidence-based supports designed to achieve specific outcomes as well as to provide a safe, effective transitional living community for up to 12 families in a 24/7 facility located in Mt. Angel, Oregon.


Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 2 years of sobriety if applicant claims recovery. Must be drug and alcohol free at all times.
Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively.
Possesses the interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively in a diverse family stability program.
Reliable transportation, valid Oregon driver’s license (or the ability to obtain a valid Oregon driver’s license within 30 days of hire) with a driving record that permits coverage under the agency’s corporate auto liability policy and personal automobile liability insurance.


Preferred Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Familiarity with recovery terminology and concepts and 12-step program or other recovery models.
Basic computer skills including email, Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience working with families in poverty, foster youth, housing, and transitional services in the public and private sector.
Experience working with medical, mental health (including suicide prevention), drug and alcohol, homeless shelters, educational communities and other social service providers.
Familiarity with person centered thinking and practices.
Experience administering medication in a controlled environment.
Experience implementing behavior support plans.


Essential Position Functions and Key Work Processes

Ability to mentor and guide families through activities of daily living.
Ability to engage families in parenting and life skills development.
Ability to implement case management and transition plans.
Ability to administer medications or monitor program participants as they self-administer physician prescribed medications.
Ability to utilize person-centered thinking and planning while working with families who reside at TLC.
Have a general knowledge of the 5 Protective Factors.
Assist Site Supervisor in ensuring all maintenance repairs are reported.
Availability to cover to open shifts as they occur.
Assist Site Supervisor as needed to provide orientation for new families living at TLC.
Adhere to all rules and regulations of the program. Report all violations to Site Supervisor and document on appropriate forms.
Ability to report accidents/injuries to Site Supervisor and document the incident or injury appropriately.
Aid and offer resources to public requesting assistance.
Assist Site Supervisor in developing and maintaining good community relations neighbor-driven family strengthening activities.
Document daily on families’ progress and offer feedback if additional strategies could be implemented.
May include running errands to BSB, picking up donations, transporting clients, etc.
Ensures that vacated participant rooms and kitchen areas are cleaned and prepared for new families moving into the program, including verifying condition of furniture and appliances and reporting needed repairs or replacement items to the Site Supervisor.
Monitor security cameras located at the facility and report potential or real security issues.
Maintain the cleanliness of the facility inside and out. The position will require daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, general cleaning, and monitoring completion of chores by residents.
Other duties as assigned by Site Supervisor.
