Position Overview:
The purpose of this position is to provide consultation for the facility. The Registered Respiratory Therapist shall provide the services of a qualified therapeutic respiratory technician. The sole responsibility of the Registered Respiratory Therapist shall be to provide guidance and counsel to the facilities respiratory services program.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide consultation to the administration and staff regarding planning, policy, development and priority setting based on initial and on-going evaluations of the respiratory service needs
- Provide respiratory therapy consultation to any patient in the facility in accordance with physician’s orders
- Counsel the patient, staff and family with regards to the patient’s respiratory therapy needs
- Make appropriate referrals for continuing respiratory care
- Review sanitation in accordance with current standards
- Review and test the equipment on a monthly basis; specifically the Ventilator
- Provide education to Physicians and staff on all equipment, modalities and treatments.
Other Job Functions:
- Travel to all facility locations as required
- Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required
- Maintain compliance with policy and procedure reviews and Healthstream assignments
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist by the state in which practicing, required
- Current BLS certification, required
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
- 3+ years’ experience, required
- Critical Care or ER experience, preferred
- Experience writing policies and procedures, preferred
- Experience with DNV Certification, preferred
- Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication
