An Angus Barn Cook’s primary responsibility is to prepare food that tastes great and has excellent plate presentation. Because our kitchens are open and visible to the public it is essential that a cook maintains good personal hygiene and grooming habits and has a pleasant personality. Proper food handling and sanitation are a must. A cook will work very closely with others within a large team environment.

Team members cover many stations, some being but not limited to: Grill, Sauté, Correlator, Prime Rib, Potatoes, Prep, Dish and/or Salad/Dessert stations. Team members prepare, season, and cook in large quantities beef, pork, poultry, seafood, vegetables, soups, sauces, etc. Various methods of cooking are used including grilling, sauté, broiling, steaming, baking, frying and/or cold prep. Due to our guests expecting consistency from one visit to the next, team members must adhere to established recipes.

This position requires 50-pound lifting and up to 7 – 9 hours standing with temperatures on occasion around 90 degrees.

A Cook must be able to work weekends, ‘All Hands on Deck Days’ and be flexible in scheduling. The Cook Staff’s usual hours are: As early as 3 pm, without times near 12:00 am. Times will vary depending on the time of year.
