Retail Buyer
Job Title: Retail Buyer
SSA is looking fora Buyer with a proven record of meeting and exceeding business objectives and sales targets. Someone who can plan and manage the retail assortment, product flow and individual store assortments. Must be able to partner with the Director of Planning and our Client to make sure product selection represents the appropriate direction of our client’s mission. Expected to partner with the Visual Director and the Director of Planning on store fixture planning, placement, and assortment messaging.

Financial Responsibilities:

• Achieve Sales Budget
• Achieve Cost of Goods Sold Budget
• Achieve Per Cap Budget
• Maximize inventory turnover while maintaining necessary stock levels to support sales
• Negotiate terms and pricing that are in line with SSA’s financial goals

Management Skills:

• Excellent oral and written presentation skills
• Confident, articulate and professional
• High energy with a strong commitment to the cultural and financial goals of the company
• Strong work ethic
• Highly adaptable to different environments and skill sets
• Ability to multi-task and monitor several projects simultaneously
• Strong attention to detail

Analytical Skills:

• Ability to research and explain variances to financial metrics
• Experience with creating annual merchandise assortment plans
• Understands how to utilize planograms for store planning and merchandising
• Able to maintain the appropriate inventory level to support sales
• Knows how to accurately project inventory needs by item
• Understands how to create and maintain a replenishment strategy

Communication Skills:

• Understands and knows how to adjust communication style to fit the individual or situation
• Empathetic communicator, able to see things from the other person’s point of view
• Able to speak professionally, clearly and honestly
• An active listener

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 3-5 years of buying responsibility and custom product development
• Attraction retail experience
• Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and Power Point
• Ability to quickly learn multiple POS systems
• Experience with cloud-based systems, uploading files and making changes to online documents
• Denver based position

Travel up to 10-15%.

Salary range is $75k-$85k commensurate with education and experience.
