Telework Information: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.
Our Retirement Benefit Services Division, Retirement Administration & Support/Estimate/Community Property Section is currently seeking an Associate Governmental Program Analyst to provide analysis and processing specialized retirement casework to support the Retirement Escalation and Support Team.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain knowledge in the California Public Employees’ Retirement Law (PERL), policies and procedures as they apply to the full range of CalPERS retirement benefits.
- Maintain technical expertise in the processing and resolution of specialized retirement calculations and adjustments while working closely with internal and external division teams to process the full range of retirement processes, including unlawful employment cases, wrongful termination cases, adjustments resulting from external and internal compensation reporting audits, cases resulting from legal settlements, partial to full retirement, Separation of Account, Possible Benefit Increase (SAPBI), multiple re-retirements, re-retirements greater than one year and temporary annuity workloads.
- Prepare or draft responses for the most sensitive correspondence or inquiries which are escalated by CalPERS members or business partners either for their own signature, Section Manager, Assistant Division Chief or Division Chief’s signature.
Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- Knowledge of basic business math and statistics
- Experience using word processing and spreadsheet software, such as Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience preparing reports and discussing findings
- Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner both orally and in writing to respond to member, business partner, participant, and third-party inquiries
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment with successful outcomes
- Ability to research, interpret data, and draw a logical conclusion to apply the California Public Employees’ Law (PERL) to casework
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $5,518.00 - $6,907.00 per month
