Job Description


AECOM is actively seeking a highly experienced and motivated MEP REVIT Designer to support several disciplines its Water Design Center. AECOM’s Design Center located in Chelmsford, MA is nationally recognized as the center of excellence that focuses on the design of large, complex, multi-discipline, high-profile water and wastewater treatment and pumping facilities for both traditional and design-build projects throughout the U.S. The Design Center is comprised of approximately 70 staff and includes a full complement of disciplines including: Geotechnical, Civil, Architectural, Structural, Building Mechanical (i.e., HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Protection) Process Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (I&C)CAD/Revit Specialists.

The layout and design of these water and wastewater treatment facilities and pumping stations include:

  • Administrative/Operations Buildings
  • Pumps, piping, valves, etc.
  • Headworks, screening, grit removal systems
  • Aeration, filtration, separation, dewatering and clarification systems
  • Odor control systems
  • Chemical feed systems
  • Disinfection
  • Sludge and residual handling systems

  • Victoria BC ($275M Design Build project)
  • MWRA Deer Island Treatment Plant Upgrades, Boston MA (several projects; $20M)
  • Ridgefield, CT WWTF Upgrade ($38M)
  • MCA Mongolia WTP (new), ($100M)
  • Portsmouth, NH WWTF Upgrade ($72.5M)
  • Woonsocket, RI WTP (new), ($57M Design Build project)
  • Sand Island, HI WWTF Upgrade, ($500M)
  • Stockton, CA WWTF Upgrade, ($190M Design Build project)
  • Pittsfield, MA WWTF Upgrade, ($51M)
  • Wallingford, CT WWTF Upgrade ($40M)

Responsibilities include:

  • MEP REVIT designer position will involve a variety of new and renovations to existing water treatment facilities, water booster pump stations, and wastewater pumping and treatment facilities
  • Create initial REVIT project setup with workflow documents
  • Support the development of the REVIT model for each project
  • Work as part of a BIM/CAD support team to achieve consistent results
  • Oversee daily model management, administration and maintenance
  • Provide REVIT MEP, Architecture and Structural support
  • Help to develop BIM Content: Families such as parametric, formula nested and type catalogs
  • Work with vendors on content download and update to Company Standards
  • Support linked views and others in multiple models situationIntegrate REVIT products with other applications (Autodesk, Construction, Cost Estimation)
  • Prepare design drawings, plans, sections, details, and schedules
  • Mentor less experienced staff

Qualifications


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS + 4 years of related design experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • 4 years of REVIT experience, including: REVIT MEP, REVIT Architecture, REVIT Structure, BIM360, Navisworks

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient with AutoCAD
  • Experience in the Water/Wastewater Industry
  • Ability to work with a diverse team
  • Detail-oriented and technical, yet experienced enough to see the big picture
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and deadlines
  • Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment
  • Ability to uphold the use of standards and escalate issues in a timely fashion
  • Experienced, self-directed professional
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Ability to meet quality, schedule and budget expectations
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and deadlines
