What you will do:

  • A ddresses the medical and psychiatric needs of patients experiencing mental health and substance abuse problems.
  • Affording all patients and their families with a professional, caring, and safe environment
  • Providing clinical and safety standards in order to ensure the highest quality of patient care

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and orient new patient admissions, medication administration, coordinating patient care as needed with other medical and psychiatry staff .
  • Process lab orders; interact with pharmacy in obtaining & verifying patient medications.
  • Documenting care in patient records.
  • Work in conjunction with multi-disciplinary team including physicians, nurse practitioners, chemical dependency counselors, social workers, and case managers .

What you will need:

  • A current NYS Nursing license
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or able to obtain in 5 years of start date
  • 1 year of RN Acute experience is preferred
  • The RN must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and written
  • Registered Nurses must possess the ability to assess, plan, direct, intervene and evaluate patient care
  • Experience working in an addiction or behavioral related field preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of working with community agencies and managed care representatives is desired.
  • Experience working with a diverse population and a strong understanding of multicultural issues is preferred.
