Job description

Operates a roll off truck on commercial routes to collect municipal solid waste, recycled materials, and construction waste.

• Drives a roll off truck along designated commercial routes to mechanically collect municipal solid waste, recycled material and/or construction/demolition waste and take it to the various disposal sites on Oahu.
• Tracks all applicable activity with a tablet, issued by the Company.
• Maintains and submits a, daily route sheet and delivery tags.
• Performs daily pre and post trip inspections. Completes and submits daily vehicle condition report at the end of the shift.
• Must demonstrate ability to maneuver truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces, using mirrors to back distances up to approximately 120 feet.
• Able to follow safe operating practices, including lock-out/ tag-out procedures to ensure truck is inoperative when working in the truck body.
• Monitors vehicle loads to detect loose debris, using mirrors or direct sight and/or listening for debris falling onto truck during dumping operation. Visually scans customer site before and after dumping as to prevent any accidents/incidents.
• Interact professionally with customers and/or the general public along the route to answer questions or respond to requests.
• Notifies supervisor of issues requiring management action.

· Knowledge of the truck and its components, and the basic maintenance requirements for safe operation.

· Able to use a tablet and GPS to locate service addresses.

· Able to learn and use interpersonal skills relating to good customer service.

• Performing all other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Experience:

· Knowledge of the island of Oahu.

· Valid Class A or B CDL.

• In the most recent 36-month period, as verified by a current MVR/driver History Report:

1. No more than one moving violation or accident.

2. No suspensions or revocations due to a moving violation or accident

3. No DUI (driving under the influence) convictions.
