Novelis (formally known as Aleris and IMCO) in Uhrichsville has immediate openings for experienced Equipment Operators who load scrap aluminum into rotary furnaces or a shredder line to support our 24/7 aluminum melting operations.

The successful candidates must be fully committed to engaging in safe working practices, driven to learn new processes and procedures, and have the ability to work as part of a team to achieve safety, quality and performance goals.

• 
  The rate of pay starts at $18.60 per hour with a raise after a 90 day probation.
• By participating in our Skill Based Pay system, employees can earn up to $28.40 an hour.
• This position will work a rotating swing shift (12 hours per day, four days in a row, then four days off; rotate between day and night shift every month)
• The successful candidates will become members of the United Mine Workers of America (UMWA) and must pay dues accordingly.
• A full range of benefits (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k) with company match, etc.) is available the first of the month following 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with Novelis EHS standards, policies, and procedures and all state/federal regulations
• Operate a forklift, skid steer, front end loader, or wheeled excavator to feed scrap aluminum into furnaces or a shredding line
• Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain accurate, legible and timely records by completing paperwork as required
• Display initiative; complete tasks with a sense of urgency
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment
• Maintain quality service/product by following ISO9001:2015 quality system standards
• Provide support as required by performing other duties as requested or assigned

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Drivers License
• At least one year of previous experience operating powered industrial trucks in a heavy industrial environment
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen
• Ability to work as scheduled (including overtime, weekends and holidays) to support our 24/7 operations
