About This Role:
The Rural Grocery Initiative (RGI) within K-State Research and Extension is seeking a program/project administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will advance the Rural Grocery Initiative's mission by:

Implementing RGI's Content Development Strategy
Developing and designing informational resources
Leading outreach and promotion for the Rural Grocery Initiative
Coordinating and managing events
Managing partner and stakeholder relationships
Supervising student employees

This position will serve an integral role on the RGI team, supporting the team's mission to support and sustain rural grocery stores, enhance community vitality and improve access to healthy foods.

Since its inception in 2007, the Rural Grocery Initiative has worked to sustain locally-owned rural grocery stores to enhance community vitality and improve access to healthy foods by identifying, developing, and sharing resources that support grocers and rural communities.

During its tenure, RGI has established itself as a trusted national technical assistance center focused on rural grocery and healthy food access. RGI develops and curates informational resources, hosts networking and educational events such as the National Rural Grocery Summit, and partners with the Kansas Healthy Food Initiative to provide technical assistance and financing to healthy food retail outlets in underserved and low-resource areas of Kansas. As part of the K-State Research and Extension system, RGI staff participate in relevant Extension activities, including the Local Foods Transdisciplinary Team and the Community Vitality Program Focus Team. What You'll Need to Succeed: Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor's degree and one year of relevant experience. This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in strategic communications, marketing and/or public relations
Experience in writing, content development, and graphic design
Project experience with food systems (local growers, farmers markets, rural grocery stores, food hubs or other relevant food system contexts)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Evidence of success in project management
Experience with Adobe Suite, photography and/or videography experience and other related tools Ability to work in team environment
Experience with databases and other CRM (Customer Relationship Management) platforms
Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
Ability to work in team environment
Ability to work both with university faculty and public stakeholder groups
Ability to work in diverse and changing environments
Ability to travel across Kansas

$48,000 - $58,000
