Job description
Responds to incoming calls to the Police Department, routing and logging calls as appropriate, gathering and managing incident-related data and arranging for dispatch of officers to scene of complaint.- Position duties include providing emergency and general service to the public, receiving and dispatching calls and performing a variety of technical and clerical tasks in support of department
- Understands how tasks/activities relate to others on the team and how the team integrates with other related, similar teams
- Organizes and completes structured assignments (e.g., emergency and non-emergency complaints) according to priorities
- Gathers and relays information according to standard processes and procedures
- Maintains lists and logs, preparing records and reports as requested
- Provides solutions to problems in situations that may be atypical or infrequently occurring
- Evaluates and selects solutions from established options/procedures
- Impacts own team through the quality of the services or information provided
- Communicates through the regular exchange of information, ranging from routine to complex; ensures objectivity and sensitivity in communications are applied

University Title: Safety Communications Operator
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired is necessary
