We are looking for an energetic Safety and Training Manager to come join our team in Four Oaks. The Safety & Training Manager is responsible for the safety and health of House-Autry employees. Their role is a combination of understanding legal safety requirements and setting standards for the company's workforce. The Safety and Training Manager’s knowledge is used to help train employees to understand safety & health procedures and requirements. Primarily responsible for assisting in planning and implementing each year's training courses and materials for all House-Autry locations.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct training (including the onboarding of new employees), to inform employees of company health and safety plans and promoting safe practices and assist with coordination of other internal trainings.
- Develop and implement sound company health and safety plans and policies and manage programs that ensure safe working conditions.
- Evaluate employee activities and inspect company equipment and property to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Processes accident reports, ensure records are completed and filed properly and identify strategies for preventing future accidents.
- Coordinate and supervise the safety committee meetings and direct the safety committee members in tasks related to safety issues.
- Responsible for the development, implementation and updating of required written safety and health programs and plans.
- Understand Management Commitment and Employee Safety Handbook.
- Responsible for maintaining the following programs and associated records: Safety and Health program, Forklift Safety
- Program, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Safety Program, Emergency Action Plan, Hearing Conservation Safety Program, Hazard Communication GHS/SDS Program, Confined Space Safety Program, Bloodborne Pathogens Safety Program, Hazard Assessment and Personal Protective Equipment Program (PPE).
- Maintain all House-Autry Safety records for personnel and follow up on required training of all personnel to ensure
- compliance.
- Act as the liaison for OSHA, EPA, and our internal environmental consultant.
- Responsible for overseeing the sanitation personnel and understanding the daily duties for that department.
- Serve as back up for the Sanitation Supervisor.
- Maintain chemical inventory and SDS books for all locations.
- Evaluate the process, communicate with production and maintenance personnel all documented safety concerns.
- Create printed and instructional materials to be used for educating House-Autry personnel.
- Provide administrative support to programs and internal teams.
- Working with team develop and fine tune training SOPs for training.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED Required
- 1 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Food manufacturing preferred.
- One or more years of background in the safety industry school diploma preferred but not required.
- OSHA 30-Hour Compliance Course. Preferred.
- OSHA 1910 Standards training. Preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and basic instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to practical situations.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to manage and complete multiple tasks.
- Certified in the use of pallet jacks, forklifts, man lifts and scissors lifts.
