Job description
We are currently seeking a Full-Time, Sales Consultant in the San Francisco Bay Area to maintain our showroom and oversee flooring projects. The ideal candidate is someone who is knowledgeable in flooring and installation, can swiftly and professionally engage with clients, and excels in a fast-paced working environment.
Abbey Whole Home (also known as Abbey Carpet & Floor of El Cerrito) is one of the top 10 flooring stores in the Bay Area for sales, service, and installation. Family-owned and operated since 1974, the Abbey brand is highly regarded for its exceptional service and quality products. Our newly-revamped showroom has hundreds of handmade wool area rugs and carpets available for residential and commercial use, as well as vinyl, tile, and solid/engineered hardwood.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers on the sales floor, determining their wants and needs, assisting them with flooring choices, and explaining the features and benefits of the various types of flooring.
- Perform job site measures of commercial and residential floor plans, calculate square yard/square foot requirements for clients, and prepare per unit proposals as needed.
- Kept up-to-date on wide selection of flooring options in stock along with communicating the benefits and warranties provided by each.
- Manage transactions and POS from initial contact with customer to writing the sales order to successful installation and completion of project.
- Demonstrated design knowledge by teaching customers how to install products, assisting in setting up installation, and creating/reading blueprint
- Can exceed monthly sales budget expectations.
- Follows up promptly and professionally with customers on all requests, concerns, or questions.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of flooring and/or installer experience (preferred but not required)
- Must be able to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run
- Must have the ability to establish rapport with client
- Multifamily/Property or other Relevant Job Site Management experience required
- Must have a hard-working build-the-business temperament
- Must be computer proficient and understand how to use the internet for research and social networking
- Must have experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Must have a proven track record in the area of Sales or Multi-family housing (submit with your resume)
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Can uphold discretion and confidentiality
Expectations
- Location: On-site; must be able to travel to job sites
- Hours: At least 40 hours per week
- Excels in a deadline-driven work environment
- Can communicate in a timely manner
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,136.55 - $70,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
