Job Description Summary:
Join us in the Wine & Spirits Industry on our Republic National Distributing Company Jefferson & Clallam Counties Sales Team! As an On-Premise Sales Representative, you maximize the sale of supplier brands to high image beverage accounts through effective account management, selling execution, and communication resulting in the achievement of company and supplier objectives.

Territory: Sequim/Port Angeles

The pay for this role is $23,900 per year plus commissions. The typical pay range for this role is $51,000 to $72,800. Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.

New hires will accrue 80 vacation hours per year as well as 7 holidays per year (after one year 8). Associates accrue paid sick time at one hour per 40 hours worked. RNDC complies with all state and local laws where applicable.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management
As a Combo Sales Representative, you will work with On Premise, Chains, and Off Premise accounts. You plan time and activities to ensure achievement of company and supplier established goals and sales objectives within assigned accounts by:
  • Developing monthly, weekly and daily written plans for execution.
  • Establishing and following an efficient and economical routing pattern that ensures assigned accounts are serviced and merchandised as needed.
  • Following the established guidelines for a complete sales call.
  • Being responsible for all aspects of servicing and merchandising within assigned accounts.
  • Developing an effective partnership with accounts
  • Effectively executing distribution and volume through various qualitative drivers: distribution, wine and drink lists, promotions, banquets, special events.
  • Conducting staff training and education in all assigned accounts.
  • Identifying opportunities, developing and implementing 'Account Action Plans'.
  • Creating customer business building concepts to increase company share and volume.
  • Working collaboratively with supplier personnel to develop product knowledge, assist with presentations, and activate account action plans.
  • Building positive relationships and an effective partnership with the ultimate decision maker in all assigned accounts.
  • Gaining knowledge of the specific customer’s business operations and coordinating multiple and diverse options for selling the company’s products to each.
  • Having extensive knowledge of the brands and knowing in-depth features and benefits of each compared to the competition.
  • Ensuring 100% distribution of all authorized SKU’s in cold box and on shelf in all assigned accounts.
  • Ensuring feature price promotions and display merchandising support from the assigned territory chain account buyers.
  • Communicating issues, opportunities and market intelligence with appropriate management through written, electronic and verbal means.
  • Maintaining up-to-date, accurate territory and account records.
  • Submitting prompt and accurate reports.
Selling
Obtain company and supplier quotas and generate revenue growth by:
  • Selling concepts and consulting with the customer on strategies that will collectively enhance both business models.
  • Building relationships and an effective partnership with the ultimate decision maker in assigned accounts.
  • Utilizing pricing and promotion strategies, marketing opportunities, servicing, merchandising and category management skills.
Communicating
Serve as information resources for, and conduits between, the field and the company's management by communicating issues, opportunities and market intelligence through effective written, electronic and verbal means. The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. This position requires the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. The role also requires the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of sales experience in the beverage industry.
  • High School diploma, or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical and objection handling skills.
  • Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office environment.
  • Proven abilities to develop selling strategies targeted to enhance wine and spirit sales within an account.
  • Proven track record of successful selling.
  • Availability for occasional evening sales calls and events.
  • Ability to work with management, colleagues, and customers throughout the business and industry at every level.
  • Key attributes: entrepreneurial self-starter, ambitious personality, accountable and action oriented.
  • Ability to Lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and clean DMV record.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of processes, tools, techniques and theory behind selling the Wine & Spirits.
  • Knowledge of specific customer's business operations and ability to coordinate multiple and diverse options for selling the organization's products and services to each. Knowledge of and ability to utilize customer profile and information.
  • The ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. This role also requires the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Industry certifications to include: CSW, CSS, WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers, Sake Specialist
    • Or to acquire: CSW/CSS in the first 6 months after hire
