Responsibilities – What You Will Do:

How will you help us grow? It matters to us, and it matters to you!

• Utilize systems such as SAP/R3.
• Provide leadership and oversight for scale desk operations.
• Serve as a trainer when needed.
• Ensure truck drivers meet internal/external transportation and handling requirements.
• Complete daily update of rail car information.
• Process inbound deliveries and outbound shipments.
• Act as weigh master and generate shipping paperwork.
• Ensure timely and accurate goods issuing of shipments.
• Responsible for records retention of shipping documents.
• Monitor the “self-loader” area via cameras and periodic safety walks.
• Monitor and manage inventory of critical shipping supplies.
• Perform compliance inspections and tasks for the scale desk building.
• Calculate loading quantities for multi-compartment tank trucks.
• Ensure quality assurance processes are followed (wash certificates, “last contained” material approval, etc.).
• Escalate issues as needed.
• Develop scale desk performance metrics and utilize problem solving tools to determine root cause of inefficiencies and participate in investigations when deliveries or shipments are adversely impacted.
• Gather and report data.
• Various other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements – Who You Are:

What expertise have you grown? What do you bring to the table?

• You have your high school diploma /GED.
• You have one year of manufacturing, customer service, dispatch, shipping, logistics and/or other relevant experience.
• You are willing and able to work in a variety of areas (office, manufacturing plant, warehouse).
• You are experienced and comfortable with using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• You have good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• You are willing and able to spend extended periods of time standing/walking/sitting.
• You are able to work well independently as well as in a team environment.
• You are willing and able to work a primarily day shift schedule of Monday – Friday, be part of the on-call rotation and work overtime hours including weekend work as needed during monthly and quarterly financial closing activities.

Preferences – It Would Be Great If You Have:

• Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP) such as SAP.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, Continuous Improvement and Standardized Work.
• Knowledge of supply chains and production plant operations.
