Minimum Education:

High School Graduate or GED equivalent.

Minimum Experience / Knowledge :

1 year experience in health care setting preferred (experience preferably as surgery scheduler / scheduling coordinator)

Job Summary:

The scheduling coordinator is responsible for scheduling patient surgeries/procedure. He/she is responsible for communicating, utilizing the computer system to access and enter patient data, including but not limited to communication with the patient, insurance company, hospital, etc. and status of the surgery schedule. Verifies insurance and pre-certification for patient’s scheduled surgeries. Ensures patient charts are prepared prior to surgery including but not limited to any imaging and pertinent lab work. Makes arrangements for any special equipment as needed. Maintains master surgery calendar for physicians. Other duties as assigned.

1. Act as a patient care coordinator for identified physician in the office.

2. Willing to travel with physician to El Segundo, Beverly Hills and East Los Angeles.

3. Ensures that all appointments/surgeries are scheduled appropriately and in a timely manner

4. Ensures that all appointments are registered appropriately in the scheduling system, including patient registration, referring physician, patient and insurance information and any other information needed.

5. Verifies insurance and obtains authorization as indicated.

6. Performs various office duties such as filing and sorting of incoming faxes, prepping clinic and completing disability paperwork.

7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $23.00 per hour
