QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Masters Degree with a concentration in school business management or administration.2. A minimum of four years of experience in business or education, at least three years of experience in a supervisory capacity, and the successful completion of an internship as a Business Manager.3. Certified or eligible for certification to practice as a school business manager in the State of Massachusetts.REPORTS TO: Superintendent of SchoolsSUPERVISES: Business Office Personnel, School Food Services Director and Transportation ServicesJOB GOAL: 1.To support the educational personnel in the performance of their duties. 2. To administer the business affairs of the district in such a way as to provide the best possible educational services utilizing the available financial resources. 3.
To prepare an effective annual budget presentation. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Supervises the management of the financial affairs of the schools.2. Supervises all accounting operations.3.
Supervises transportation and food services operations.4. Assists the Superintendent in the preparation of the budget and administers a budget control program.5. Acts as advisor to the Superintendent on all questions relating to the business and financial affairs of the district.6. Reports on the financial condition of the district to the School Committee.7.
Supports all staff and administrators in the financial aspects that bolster student achievement.8. Collaborates and communicates clearly with all school personnel, including active engagement with the Leadership Team.9. Prepares all required reports for DESE.10. Purchases all supplies, materials, and equipment in keeping with the budget.11.
Arranges for the internal auditing of school accounts.12. Participates in collective bargaining.13. Assists in recruiting, screening, hiring, assigning, supervising, and evaluating personnel for positions in the offices under his/her jurisdiction and/or at the request of the superintendent.14. Prepares and submits for approval all transfers of money from one line to another.15.
Assists the Superintendent in the presentation of the annual budget to the School Committee, Town Finance Committee, and the Annual Town Meeting.16. Maintains records on all grants from federal or state grant program, and assists grant recipients with the disbursement of money under grants.17. Submits a monthly statement to the School Committee detailing the status of each Town Meeting line item appropriation, and state and federal grant monies.18. Acts as the payroll officer for the School Department.19.
Manages the districts insurance-related matters.20. Assists the Director of Facilities in the performance of his duties and responsibilities.21. Performs any other duties that may be assigned by the Superintendent or her/his designee.
