Please note: this position is paid on an hourly basis and limited to 1500 hours per calendar year. The salary range for Scientific Aid is $16.07 - $19.07 per hour.

The California Regional Water Quality Control Board, San Diego Region has an opening for a Scientific Aid in the Surface Waters Branch. The position is in the Mission Valley community of San Diego at 2375 Northside Drive, San Diego, 92108, near light rail, freeways, and restaurants.

Duties:

Under the direct supervision of the supervisor of the Wetlands Riparian And Protection Unit the Scientific Aid will assist in supporting the Surface Water Branch on receiving, tracking, inventorying, and reviewing discharger permit application, self-monitoring report and other technical report submittals for the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit program, the Storm Water Management program, and the Water Quality Certification program. Job duties will include assisting in the assessment of compliance with permit requirements, enforcement orders, and federal and state water quality laws policies and regulations. Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
