Boulder County Parks and Open Space (BCPOS) department is seeking to hire 2 Seasonal Roadside Mower positions. Roadside mowers will help keep vegetation alongside county-owned roadways trimmed. The ideal candidates for this position are safety conscious and able to work independently.
This is an hourly, non-benefited position. This position will work Monday - Thursday 6:30am - 5:00pm. This position will work out of the BCPOS Headquarters located at 5201 St. Vrain Rd. Longmont, Colorado. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non-exempt (eligible for overtime).
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range: $20.04 - $22.12 Hourly
Tentative Hiring Timeline:
First Round Interviews: March 20th- Reference Check: March 27th
- Safely operate medium size tractors with 10'-15' rotary cutters for mowing vegetation along roadsides during general traffic/commuting hours
- Conduct basic servicing/maintenance of equipment
- Perform minor repairs and adjustments to assigned equipment
- Check/Report current or anticipated mechanical problems with equipment
- Log daily activities
- Maintain weekly/daily maintenance log
- Identification of some noxious weeds
- Mechanical control (hand pulling, hand cutting, using weed trimmers, etc.) of state listed noxious weeds
- Preform other duties, as required
- May be reassigned in an emergency situation

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
DRIVER'S LICENSE:
- Applicants must have a valid driver's license
- Candidates for this position will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment physical
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two or more years of experience with operating large farming equipment, tractors, and mowers
