Reporting to the Senior Safety Specialist and serving as an active member of our Safety Health & Environmental (SHE) team at our Gaston, SC (Columbia, SC) facility, some of the responsibilities of the Security Associate will be accomplished through the following tasks that support the Senior Safety Specialist:
- Maintain constant line of communication with the 14K01 alarm office
- Handles all emergency communications (radio, phones, text, sirens) during any emergency with ERT ICs, until the event is resolved and the “All Clear” is sounded
- Oversee the CAMS in the 14K01 office and communicate with Power & Services personnel
- Will provide support for Security gate issues
- Open/Close the 15th St gate for Offsite Emergency responders’ access
- Perform random gate inspections of DAK/partner entries at the turn styles
- Conduct site patrols including outer areas
- Conduct inspections of site fire protection systems (weekly and monthly)
- Participate in quarterly testing of the fire protection alarm system and site Accountability Exercises
- Able to understand bills of lading for receiving bulk shipments
- Able to understand how to check-in bulk shipments
- Able to understand how to inspect seals
- Security camera oversight
- Ensures that all badges are accounted for
- Able to understand how to complete properly vet visitors and contract partners
- Other miscellaneous SHE/Security duties
Job Requirements:
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be detail oriented and self-driven
- Must be able to work rotating shifts (12-hour shifts)
- Must be proficient with Outlook, Excel, Word
- Will be able to learn Access Badging System
- Effective oral and written communication skills; listens and gets clarification.
- Organization and tidiness are important
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Must be able to follow instructions
- Able to interface with all types of people (internal and external)
Preferred
- 5 years of experience in a safety role
