Duties and Responsibilities
Access Control for a secure facility Backgroud and credentialing is a requirement.
Patrolling assigned locations, observing and reporting by assessing, monitoring, analyzing, and retaining information, in order to determine the need for police intervention while reducing crime and the fear of crime. Help de-escalate violent situations and or call the appropriate law enforcement department for assistance to address crimes in progress, complaints of suspicious or criminal activity, domestic and neighborhood disputes, and loud and disruptive behavior. Regulates and directs vehicular and pedestrian traffic pertaining to a property when needed
Document information, and testify in hearings, grand juries, and trial courts...Prepares records and reports of activities as required by policy or laws. Completes mandatory state and federal in-service training. Advises the public on laws and local ordinances. Assists residents and or patrons; give information and directions to visitors and the general public, Performs other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge of the ever-changing federal and state laws and policies of the property. Working knowledge of security principles, best practices, methods, and equipment. Working knowledge of computers including the use of specified security reporting programs, the internet, and email.
- Ability to engage in multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to act with sound judgment in routine and emergency situations.
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms.
- Ability to present effective court testimony.
- Ability to build and maintain cooperative and effective public relations with the residents and patrons.
- Ability to prepare clear and concise activity reports.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and public officials.
Minimum Experience and Education
- High School Diploma or GED
- United States Citizen
- Security Officer Training (possession of a Current NC PPSB Certification) combination of education and experience.
- Be of good moral character as determined by a background investigation.
- Professional and dependable
Must pass an oral interview and drug screening.Must pass a Field Training Period of observation TBD Have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a security officer.Must have reliable transportation and a smartphone.
