Essential Functions

Facilitate the balancing and filing of the daily taxes

• Balance and file monthly and quarterly tax returns

• Utilize Excel, Insight and JD Edwards to provide ad hoc and custom advanced reports as needed

• Work with management, the tax team, HR, controllers, field staff, consultants, and agencies for compliance and resolving errors

• Perform 3-way reconciliation against general ledger, Payroll, and ADP

• Demonstrate key controls with annual Sarbanes Oxley audits

• Provide reports for audits, U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, and new hire reporting

• Manage payroll tax email inbox and maintain the issues log

• Manage state unemployment insurance rates, payroll tax POAs and payroll tax notices for enterprise

• Manage special assessments, employer training taxes and surcharges

• Manually file state/local and amended 941/940 tax returns as needed

• Take initiative by suggesting and implementing process improvements

• Assist with year-end balancing of W-2s, 941s and W-3s

• Manage User Acceptance Testing for JD Edwards tax updates

• Assist with implementations and integrations

• Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, (preferably in Accounting or Finance)

• CPP (preferred)

• 5 Year of payroll tax, and accounting experience with at least 3 years being in payroll taxes
