Our ACI, SAT, and NICET certified construction professionals have extensive on-the-job experience in supervision, observation, safety oversight and inspection with ongoing training that ensures required daily schedules are adhered to and all materials are procured and constructed according to plans and specifications. We work with our clients to achieve the optimum value, schedule, and project quality for heavy highway, single and multi-span bridges, intersection and traffic signal improvements, marine improvements, water/wastewater transmission, building and vertical project management, park and recreation construction, and condition assessment and asset inventory.
Our construction professionals understand the impact construction projects have on the surrounding communities and foster public relations and communications with the local business owners, residents, and elected officials in the surrounding communities. Responsibilities:

Bergmann, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design is currently looking for a Senior Construction Inspector to join our Construction Engineering & Inspection team in our New Windsor, NY office.

Our ACI, SAT, and NICET certified construction professionals have extensive on-the-job experience in supervision, observation, safety oversight and inspection with ongoing training that ensures required daily schedules are adhered to and all materials are procured and constructed according to plans and specifications. - Responsible for the construction inspection of bridge and/or highway construction projects including measuring and calculating quantities and documenting work with daily work reports, photos, and sketches
- Oversee and coordinate documentation of construction inspection
- Insures work is completed in accordance with NYSDOT specifications
- Apply project plans, along with company policies, guidelines, standards, specifications to the work and make decisions.
- Maintain project documentation and communicate with individuals at all levels of the project
- Coordinate activities on the project site and resolve problems related to the work
Expertise in federally-aided, transportation projects as a Construction Inspector is helpful in this role. Experience working with/for clients like NYSDOT and/or Municipal clients and a technical knowledge of general and highway construction is ideal
What You’ll Need to Be Successful:
- At least NICET III or Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
- 5 or more years of related experience
- Valid Driver's License
- ACI Certification required
- Expertise in federally-aided, transportation projects as a Construction Inspector is helpful in this role. Experience working with/for clients like NYSDOT and/or Municipal clients and a technical knowledge of general and highway construction is ideal
- Strong communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Comfortable with using computers and adapting to softwares
- Team player who enjoys working collaboratively with others
- Strong mathematics skills
- Ability to work outdoors, on job sites, for extended periods of time
- Appia and/or CEES Experience
- Familiarity with NYSDOT's Manual of Uniform Record Keeping (MURK)
